Accelerated Reader(our most popular reading program)- Grades 1 - 5 Accelerated Reader ProgramDid you know this program was created on a kitchen table in the summer of 1984 by a mom who was concerned that her children didn’t care about reading?
It grew from an activity for her family into a program used in
their neighborhood school. It is now an educational resource used in schools across the nation, with tools for grades K – 12, and even offers college level materials.Accelerated Reader is widely considered to be one of the best literature-based reading programs on the educational market today.Research studies have shown that reading practice improves student scores in reading, as well as in math. Students that are successful readers, on or above their identified reading level with comprehension, will then also demonstrate success in a multitude of academic and non-academic areas. AR has developed strategies
that create reading habits and promoting a love for reading. Reading becomes a frequent recreational activity!
