SCHOOL VISITATION AND PARENT CONFERENCESFor the safety of all our students at Herfurth Elementary please follow these guidelines:
- Visitors should sign in at visitors desk or the office when first arriving.
- If you need to make contact with your child or his/her teacher, the office staff will assist you.
- When you check into our building, you will receive a visitors badge. The badge identifies you as an authorized visitor and notifies the staff that you have signed in.
- Teachers and staff have been instructed to question anyone not identified as an authorized visitor.
- Each fall and spring, we will be contacting parents to set up a time for conferences. However, if you feel a need for an additional conference, please call the office and one will be scheduled for you as soon as possible.
- A parent may visit in a child's classroom for a time up to one hour by prior arrangement with the principal. Parent's will be given a note to admit them to the classroom. In no case should a parent go to a classroom during school hours without proper authorization. This visit would not be an appropriate time for a conference. Preschool children should not accompany parents during classroom visitation.

- When picking up or dropping off your child, please use the lane closest to the curb. It is for your child's personal safety that we ask you to follow this rule. Student's that are dropped off in one of the outside lanes run the risk of being hit by a car as they are leaving the parking lot. Also, please teach your child to only cross at the crosswalk. We want your child to enter and leave safely while at our school.
