Rowlett High School is one of eight high schools in the Garland Independent School District. Currently, Garland ISD is the second largest public school district in Dallas County, the fourth largest school district in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and the eleventh largest district in the state of Texas.

Rowlett High School is located in the City of Rowlett, Texas which is a growing community with a current population of approximately 50,000 in an area of about 19 square miles. Rowlett is located along the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard off Interstate 30 in an area encompassing northeast Dallas County and western Rockwall County. Rowlett High School is located in Dallas County.

Rowlett High School is a very large, attractive campus, located at the intersection of Kirby and Main. In an effort to expedite drop-off and pick up of students, a structured traffic flow procedure has been implemented at RHS.

Incoming freshmen may find it helpful to mark their classrooms on a map until they become familiar with the layout of the campus.
