One very good resource available to PTA members is the Texas PTA website. Not only does it keep you up to date with what is going in PTA organizations, it has some very valuable resources to parents as well. One resource we encourage you to go look at is "Party 101 Consequences". It talks about drinking among teens and has a free DVD presentation available upon request. Additionally, there are links that will show you statistics on drinking, etc.
This is also a good resource for keeping up with legislative news and updates. Log in to the "members site" using the information on the back of your membership card (until Oct. 15th it is id "local" password "benefits") then go to the site map. You can then link on legislative updates, how to become a child advocate, as well as link on to read "The Voice" which is the official Texas PTA Newsletter.
