Class of 2008

It is time for senior girls to plan for the powder puff game against the juniors. This year it will be before the Spring Football Game on Thursday, May 22. If you are interested in playing, stop by the senior wall and sign up. We will start practices the week of May 5. Any senior boys interested in coaching, stop by and sign up on the senior wall, also. If you have any questions, see one of the Class of 2008 sponsors.

The last day to order senior brunch or senior trip tickets is May 9. There will be no additions or returns permitted after May 9.

All seniors need to be sure and report all scholarship offers ( 35KB) with the dollar amounts to the Counseling Center. Students should report all offers even those they have no intention of accepting. We must record and report this to the administration building and we want to recognize you and your achievements at the May 15 Senior Awards Program.

If you think you have 4 or 12 years of perfect attendance, please see Mrs. Lyon in the Counselors’ Office.

All NHS Seniors must turn in their hours sheet to Mr. Gracy by April 28. If you wish to wear an NHS stole at graduation, you must also bring $20. If Mr. Gracy has not received your hours sheet and $20 by April 28, you will not have an NHS stole to wear at graduation.

The RHS PTSA Scholarship application is now available in the counselor's office. To apply, you must be graduating in May 2008 and be a two-year member of the PTSA. The deadline is April 30.

Important List of Dates

• AP Exams will be from May 5 to May 16.
• Loss of Credit Sessions for seniors only will be held on the week of May 12 through May 16 from 2:30 - 5:30. Each session costs $10.
• The Honors Graduate Banquet will be held on May 13 at Hella Temple at 6:00 p.m.
• Senior Awards Night is on May 15 at 7:00 p.m.
• The Senior Brunch/Luncheon is on May 17, 2008 at the Atrium in Garland. It is a Come 'n Go festivity with specific showing times of the senior video. Volunteers are needed to help decorate (balloons, confetti, etc.)
• The Senior Field Trip will be on May 20, 2008 at Reunion Ranch. Chaperones are needed.
• Senior Exams will be on Friday, May 23 (4th and 5th periods) and Tuesday, May 27 (1st, 2nd, and 3rd periods).
• Graduation Rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, May 28 from 3:00 - 5:00. If it goes well, you will be released earlier.
• Seniors must report to the Special Events Center by 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29 for graduation.
• Teachers will distribute diplomas on Monday, June 2 in the gym.

 

Class of 2009

The next booster meeting for the Class of 2009 will be held on Monday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the RHS Cafeteria. The Order of business will be nomination and election of new Class of 2009 Booster Officers. Come and be part of the process and part of the planning for a wonderful year of activities for our "soon to be" Seniors!

Now that you have your ring, it’s time to start thinking about your senior activities! Don’t forget to submit your Senior Contract. Copies and information are available in Room 2101!

The annual Powder Puff game (Junior v. Senior girls) is scheduled for Thursday, May 22, at 4:00 p.m. at HBJ Stadium. Students may sign up in room 2101 to play (girls) or coach (guys). We have to get moving on this - the Seniors start practicing the week of May 5!!!

 

Class of 2010

The Class of 2010 is doing a service Project for the Rowlett Animal Shelter and will e accepting dog and cat food, socks, cat nip and any toys until May 21st. After school on May 21st any 2010 class member can meet in Mrs. Hawley's room to make toys for the animals and plan the delivery.

The Class of 2010 are collecting used cell phones and ink cartridges as a fundraiser. Tiffany Bawcum is collecting those or you can send them to the RHS Library and Mrs. Sowers will get them to her.

Are you interested in being a 2010 class officer? Applications will be available at the mandatory meeting on Monday, May 5, in room 1201. Applications will be due on May 9.

The next fund-raising night at Big Star Burger will be on Monday night May 12!

The next full 2010 meeting ...all are invited...is Monday, May 5, at 7:00 p.m. in the Rowlett Library. In a few weeks, the Class of 2010, will be juniors and then senior year is just around the corner from there. Find out what plans are already in the works and how you can get involved.

Reminder - it is time to send in another payment on your Senior contract. This payment is due before the end of the 3rd trimester.

You will also find a email signup list outside a sponsor's room (Mrs. Amyx (1105), Mrs. Hawley (1201), Mrs. Overby (1226), Mr. Hearne (PB6) or the Library).

The Class of 2010 Taste Test Fundraiser will be on May 21. Ask around to get parents, grandparents, friends and family to sign up. The more people we get the more money we make.

 

Class of 2011

The Class of 2011 will have a Parent Meeting on Tuesday, May 20, at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria.
