Volunteer
A volunteer application must be filled out each year.
We invite you to join the Back Elementary volunteer team! Parents, family, and community members can provide wonderful time, resources and skills to our school. Please visit the office and we will get you set up in less than 3 minutes! It's that easy.
Per GISD policy, only approved volunteers may participate in field trips, class parties, and school events as chaperones or volunteers.
Please note: If you fill out the application online, but do not visit the office to provide a valid picture ID to be entered into our Raptor system, your online application may be deleted and not approved after a few days. So be sure to come into the office first. We will make it fast and easy.
How to volunteer
Apply
Anyone who would like to volunteer must:
- provide a photo ID to the front office
- complete an online application and upload a copy of your photo ID
The online application can be completed at home or the main office of any campus.
What happens next?
- A background check will be performed using the Raptor Volunteer Management System.
- You will receive an email to notify you when you may begin volunteering.

Bulletin boards
We love to display fun, colorful and exciting bulletin boards throughout the school. Would you like to help design, create and make stunning, eye-catching bulletin boards? Then give us a call today! We would love to have you join us in making Back better.
Classroom helpers
Classroom teachers could use your help with things like cutting out laminating, filing, copying, reading to students, bulletin boards and more. Some projects can be done at home. For more information, contact your child's teacher.
Fundraising
Back Elementary PTA sponsors a fundraising events and opportunities to support Back through local restaurant spirit nights. Please visit the PTA page and the Back calendar for more information and dates.
Working from home
Back Elementary understands that many parents work and are unable to volunteer during school hours. There are many behind-the-scene opportunities that are just as important for student success. Please contact your student's teacher to see how you can become active in your child's education.
