The Naaman Forest Speech & Debate Club is an organization that is based
upon promoting leadership, motivation, improving critical thinking skills,
and socializing among those who enjoy a competitive nature.
Any student can join the Speech & Debate Club. Club dues are $5.00 per year. We have a monthly meeting the 1st Wednesday of each month. At these monthly meetings, we discuss upcoming events and celebrate birthdays.
Another side of our club consists of students who compete at tournaments. A goal of a speech/debate competitor is to earn membership into the National Forensics League, a national honor society for speech students. by competing at tournaments you are able to earn points to obtain membership. to become a NFL member, you need 25 points. Distinguished NFL alumni include: President Lyndon Johnson, Vice President Hubert Humphrey, actress Shelly Long, television host Oprah Winfrey, news anchor Jane Pauley, and thousands of other leaders in politics, business, education, law, and public service.
