Porch Party Success

You could feel the excitement from the kids at the porch party held at Keeley on Thursday, August 19th.  Students met their teachers, brought school supplies, bought school t-shirts and caught up with friends.  The pony rides were a big hit.  Pizza was served and to beat the heat, snow cones were a refreshing treat!

Recycling

Keeley recycles year round!  Please save the items listed below and you may bring them to school anytime.  Please turn in items to Mrs. Cox in the computer lab.  We collect only the following items:

Regular Educator of the Year

Renee Jones has been selected as the Garland ISD Regular Educator of the Year.  She was honored at a banquet on May 11th, hosted by the GISD superintendent, Curtis Culwell, and other Directors from the administration building.  Mrs. Jones was chosen for the honor in recognition of her efforts in working with special education students in her classroom.  From a pool of 49 nominees from across the District, Mrs. Jones was selected because of her "above and beyond" efforts to successfully integrate special needs' students with regular education students.  She has taught at Keeley for 18 years and currently teaches first grade.  We are proud of Renee for representing Keeley for such a positive contribution.
