Researchers have evidence for the positive effects of parent involvement on children when schools and parents support and encourage their children's learning and development. Students with involved parents earn higher grades and test scores, have better social skills and show improved behavior.

School Meals

You can get all of the school meal information such as lunch and breakfast menus, meal prices, and how to pre-pay for school meals online, and how to apply for free or reduced meals from the Garland ISD district website. 

Breakfast

Breakfast is served every morning between 7:30-8:00 a.m. in the school cafeteria. Outside food and drinks are not allowed for breakfast. A plate breakfast must be purchased to eat breakfast in the cafeteria. 

Lunch

Parents may eat lunch with their child on Mondays and Fridays only. If a different day is needed, please send a note to the child's teacher indicating the reason for the exception, and the names of those who will be having lunch with your child. These requests must be submitted to the campus administration for approval 24 hours in advance. 

Award assemblies

Keeley's award assemblies are held in the cafeteria after every grading cycle for our first through fifth-grade. Students are recognized for academic achievement, character, good citizen, Accelerated Reader achievement and extra effort. Parents and family members are welcome to attend.

The Light Post

The LIGHT Post is a monthly newsletter provided by the Student Assistance Counselors of the LIGHT Program, a division of the Guidance and Counseling Department of Garland Independent School District.

Birthdays on the Marquee

You may wish your child a happy birthday on the Keeley Marquee! Summer birthdays can be recognized on their half birthday. Requests must be made two weeks prior to the requested date.  Student will receive a spirit stick for their backpack with your $5 paid birthday. Payment and confirmation is required and reservations are honored in the order they are received.

Newsroom

Newsroom is a one-stop shop for all the news, photos, tweets, videos and external news media coverage for Garland ISD.  At the beginning of each month, a Skylert email will be sent to families and staff that provides recent news and a quick link to the Newsroom webpage to keep everyone in the know about the good news in GISD.

Register with Skyward

Skyward is the student information system in GISD that allows parents to see their child's grades, attendance, view report cards, as well as contact teachers.  To register, you will provide us with your email address and it will be entered into Skyward. Skyward will then email you your login information. If you have any questions, please contact our data clerk, Natalie Galitz

Books/DVD's for Parents

Keeley has many books and DVD's that are currently housed in our library.  These items may be checked out at any time during the day.  If you are unable to make it to the school, we will be happy to send the items home with your child.  Simply email Mrs. Riland and include your child's name and the title of the book/DVD that you are requesting.
