HERO & Cybersafety Week
During the week of September 22-26, Kimberlin students celebrated HERO and Cybersafety week. Activities and programs throughout the week promoted a safe learning environment by educating students, teachers, parents and the community about cybersafety, respecting classmates, exemplifying good citizenship and how to prevent bullying in schools and communities. One of these activities is the Power of Parents Forum.
TEA Names Title I Reward Schools
The Texas Education Agency recently announced its list of Title I Reward schools for the 2013-2014 school year. Kimberlin Academy earned recognition in High-Performance and High Progress. To receive the designation for High-Performance, a Title I school must earn academic distinctions in math and reading in the Texas accountability system. A high progress school is a Title 1 school in the Top 25 percent in annual improvement and/or a school in the top 25 percent of those demonstrating the ability to close performance gaps based on system safeguards.
Out of 8,317 public school campuses, 231 Texas schools were recognized as High-Performance schools and 363 were recognized as High-Progress schools.
