Gilmour Gallop 2014
At Embree Park
Students and their families (not just the Dudes) are invited to join us in a walk/run around the park. We encourage everyone to participate whether walking or running. Families may bring younger siblings, strollers and wagons. Daily physical exercise, such as walking and running, are a great way to stay/get fit and feel good.
The Gilmour Gallop was established in loving memory of Kimberlin’s fourth grade teacher Pam Gilmour. Funds raised by the event help provide scholarships to attend camp for 5th graders.
Make signs, bring pom-poms and join us for a morning of fun!
If you can volunteer, please sign-up here or email Coach Adame
Be on the look out for an e-mail with you Skyward access information. An e-mail will be sent to the address that was provided on the Family Verification Form. Skyward will allow you to monitor your child's attendance records, and grades!
Evidence of Excellence Award
Kimberlin Academy received an Evidence of Excellence award from the Garland ISD Board of Trustees on October 14, 2014. This was awarded in recognition for fostering family-school partnerships and being named a 2014-2016 National PTA School of Excellence. Just 170 campuses nationwide received this honor for showing progress in the arts, cultural exploration and education in health and safety.
TEA Names Title I Reward Schools
The Texas Education Agency recently announced its list of Title I Reward schools for the 2013-2014 school year. Kimberlin Academy earned recognition in High-Performance and High Progress. To receive the designation for High-Performance, a Title I school must earn academic distinctions in math and reading in the Texas accountability system. A high progress school is a Title 1 school in the Top 25 percent in annual improvement and/or a school in the top 25 percent of those demonstrating the ability to close performance gaps based on system safeguards.
Out of 8,317 public school campuses, 231 Texas schools were recognized as High-Performance schools and 363 were recognized as High-Progress schools.
