National Library Week
Did you know it's National Library Week? We have lots to celebrate, Luna Lions! Mrs. Salter, with the help of Mrs. Ratliff, always has exciting things happening in the library. From Gigi and her un-ending wardrobe, author visits from Susan Stevens Crummel, and now the 5th grade checkers tournament, it's definitely fun to be a Luna Lion Reader! Be sure to give Mrs. Salter a high five and tell her how much we appreciate all she does for our school!
Read, Write, Think
Even though Spring has sprung, our Luna Lions are NOT taking it easy. If you tour the halls, all you will find is impressive higher level thinking! First grade has been working hard on adjectives. Students created self portraits with adjectives that describe themselves. How cute is that? This first grader knows he is smart, funny, helpful and BIG!
Then you continue down the hall, and you'll find extensive insect research. Here, you'll find lots of different insects represented. We're pretty impressed with all the different facts these future entymologists were able to find!
One of the most exciting things had to be 3rd grades Poetry Scavenger Hunt! Each class completed a poetry based, in depth, high thinking scavenger hunt, looking for different examples of poetry terminology! Looking for a line that appeals to your sense of sight? Well, "Milk came out of Mark's nose!" definitely fits that criteria! Way to go, 3rd grade!
Be sure you come up and look around at all the amazing things happening in our hallways and classrooms right now. We've definitely amped up the learning levels!
College Readiness Begins Now
GISD is offering an amazing opportunity for your child to start planning their future at an early age. This is a great way to expose your child to the possiblities that will be available to them. Come out and explore to give your student a reason for their learning!
National PTA Survey
We are so thankful to have such supportive and involved parents at Luna! Earlier this year we sent home a National PTA Survey to get some feedback. We took a long look at the results of the survey and have been working hard to address any of those needs. It's that time of year to resend the survey and see what kind of improvement was made! These will be coming home in your child's folder, but in case you would rather take them online, here are the links. You only have to take the survey in any form ONE time. We must have the surveys completed and back to the school by Monday, April 21. Thank you so much!

Your teacher could win a free car for a month! Teachers with the most votes across the district win a car for one month from Jupiter Chevrolet! How cool is that?? You can vote for your favorite teacher by going to Facebook. Voting deadline is the 23rd each month.
