School Choice for 2013-2014

Choice of school for kindergarten-4th grade begins on Friday, March 1st and ends on Monday, April 1st.

Calling All Parents

All GISD schools are using School Messenger - an automated phone calling system, to contact parents with reminders, updates, school news, and also in the event of an emergency. Please make sure the office has current phone numbers on record for your family so you will receive these messages.

Candy Sales

PTA is selling candy and cokes after school every Friday, in the front of the school, to raise money to purchase supplies and materials for classroom use. Don't forget to send extra change for your child to support our school.

Book Bytes Contest

Garland ISD is holding a book trailer contest. Any GISD student can enter the contest. The deadline for submissions to Ms. Haun is April 12th. For more information and contest rules, see Ms. Haun or Ms. Davis.

Cici's Night is coming soon!!

Come out and enjoy dinner with students and staff at 1037 Northwest Highway in Garland, TX. The class with the most attendees will win a pizza party. Mrs. Clark's Kindergarten class won pizza and drinks for the month of March.

Box Tops for Education

We are continuing to collect BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION. This is an easy way for you to support Montclair. You can find Box Tops on many products that you use everyday. Just cut them out and sent them to school with your child. Thank you for your support.

School Information

If your student will be taking medication for the 2012-2013 school year, please make sure you turn the medication and proper forms in to Nurse Wilken prior to the first day of school, to avoid long lines. Please call the clinic prior the week before school starts to schedule your appointment at (972) 279-4041. Be ahead of the game and know the immunization requirements of GISD. Check our website again at the beginning of August as we will have other reminders about back to school.

Visiting Our School

To protect our students and staff, GISD has implemented the RAPTOR system for screening campus visitors.
Government-issued ID required when visiting a campus facility.

Parent Account Management Systems

Parent Account Management System (PAMS)Families may now pre-pay for school meals by using PAMS.

By using the PAMS system, you can:

Prepay for your student’s meals online or on the phone safely and conveniently.
Choose Visa, Mastercard, Discover, electronic check or debit card.
Set up your account for automatic payments when balance is low.
Access meal account balances online or by phone.
Access payment history online or by phone.
Receive e-mail notification of balance status automatically.
Receive email confirmation of automatic payments.
Register multiple students under one account.

This is a great way to get information on your child's lunch account!

Become a Montclair Roadrunner volunteer for the 2012-2013 school year! There are many opportunities for you to participate at Montclair, including PTA activities, helping classroom teachers, chaperoning field trips, etc. Whether you can donate one hour or one-hundred hours, we have a spot for you! However, for the safety of our students, all volunteers are required to fill out a volunteer form and background check every year before volunteering. Because we have so many involved parents, we encourage everyone to fill out the necessary forms, even if you do not anticipate volunteering on a regular basis. A large part of our school's success can be attributed to our outstanding volunteers. Volunteer information and forms can be found on the district website. Thank you for your support!

Mark Your Calendars!!

Long-term planning can commence for students and families eager to set their schedules as the Garland ISD released its 2012-2013 school calendar.

Days of note during the 2012-2013 school year include:

March 29 No School, Good Friday
April is STAAR testin month
April 15 and June 7, have been designated as bad weather days during the spring of 2013. Both dates should be considered when planning summer activities.
May 27, Memorial Day Holiday
June 6, Last Day of Class
