Northlake is pioneering a Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) program in GISD. One of our classrooms was completely remodeled to form a STEM lab where ever student benefits from conducting investigations and experiments using STEM principles. You can see some of our 2nd grade students conducting an experiment to see if they could make play dough better than it already is.
Fire Reel Film Festival
The 3rd annual Fire Reel Film Festival is now accepting student and class entries. The Fire Reel Film Festival challenges GISD students, classes and staff to create an original film about something important to you. The contest runs October 1 - December 31, 2014.
Have you visited GISD's parent page recently? Have you wondered when that important date is? Maybe you've forgotten how to log into Skyward. It is full of helpful resources, important dates, steps to navigate through Skyward and much more.
Students do better academically and socially when schools and parents build a positive relationship. Parent involvement in your child's education is crucial. Your child will benefit by having higher grades, test scores, better social skills and good attitude towards school and his/her education.
Join PTA. PTA does so much for our school. Many of the school events that we have are sponsored by our awesome PTA. The membership fee is only $6.50, but it allows PTA to continue hosting many events that benefit your child.
Become a volunteer at Northlake. There are several opportunities for our parents to help out with either a field trip or an activity at school. Be sure to ask your child's teacher if their is anything that you can assist with.
Thank you Northlake parents, you are one-of-a-kind!!!
