Principal - Lisa Alexander
I was born in Springfield, Missouri while my father was attending college. After his graduation we moved back to Garland where my parents were from. I attended school in Garland at Bullock Elementary, Jackson Middle School and North Garland high school in 1981. I went to college and received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at The University of North Texas and the a Master's degree in Educational Administration. I taught Kindergarten and Fourth grades at Spring Creek Elementary in GISD before becoming an Assistant Principal at Rowlett Elementary and then a Principal at Cooper and Rowlett Elementary before coming to Walnut Glen Academy.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for thirty years. We have a daughter, Jordan and a son Chase. Jordan graduated from Texas State University and is employed with GISD and my son is a recent graduate at Texas A&M and works for Cintas in the Woodlands. During my free time I enjoy reading, shopping, gardening and spending time at our lake house at Cedar Creek Lake. I am excited about leading our school into many exciting endeavors over the next few years!
Greetings and salutations WGA students and parents. I am looking forward to my third year as AP at the National Blue Ribbon award winning Walnut Glen Academy for Excellence.
My first two years here have been nothing short of amazing. Getting to know and serve the individuals that come together to make up the WGA school community.
My wife and I have two kids. Alexander is five and our daughter Chloe is one. My wife Aurora is also an Assistant Principal in GISD. We love to travel and spend time together as a family doing cool stuff to enhance the lives of our kiddos. I love what I do and I love doing it at Walnut Glen. Hope to see you soon!It has been a joy and a privilege.
