WGA Office Staff
Principal - Alex Rivera
This is my 3rd year as the principal at Walnut Glen Academy. I consider it and honor and privilege to be working for our students. I served in the United States Air Force for four years and have a master's degree from Texas A&M Commerce in Educational Administration. I am currently working on a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction.
I believe in having an open door policy which includes a positive outlook when meeting parents and community members alike! We are one, big, happy family at Walnut Glen Academy! It is my pleasure and positive interest to develop long lasting relationships with our students, parents and community members.

Hello Walnut Glen Academy. Are you ready for the best year ever? I am so excited to be returning to Walnut Glen for my second year as AP. Over the course of my first year, I forged many bonds and built many relationships. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving the WGA community and providing sound educational leadership while continuing to strengthen personal and professional relationships. I believe in the power of teamwork and look forward to joining forces with students, staff, parents, community members and businesses to provide the most amazing educational environment possible for our students. My wife and I are the proud parents of a 4 year old son Alex and 6 month old daughter Chloe. We enjoy family time, traveling and being a part of Garland ISD. We recently purchased a house in Garland and are hoping to be a part of the GISD family for a long time. Thank you for all you do to make Walnut Glen Academy a great place for teaching and learning.
