Schedules
Mr. Alvarado emailed some important information to parents in July. Following are copies of the summer letter and schedules you will need to be sure to read.
TMEA Honors
We are proud to announce that the RHS Wind Symphony was ranked number 3 in the TMEA 5A Honor Band competition! The top 14 finalist band's recordings were judged on Sunday. July 25, and Mr. Alvarado was present during all but one recording. He said that all band's performances were amazing and he is very proud of the kids for ranking so high. Mr. Alvarado received countless "kudos from colleauges that he was asked to share with the students and staff of the RHS Band. Hebron HS was the winner and Berkner HS came in second.
Band Leaders
Congratulations to the new 2010-2011 Drum Majors, Jay Wallis, Kate Letourneau and Connor Volz, along with all of this year's band leaders.
Spirit Nights
Applebee's
Please join us at Applebee's in Rockwall for a new Pancake & Sausage Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, 8/21/10 from 8 am - 10 am.
Pre-sell breakfast tickets for $6.00. Fifty percent of the profit goes directly to the band. This is a great opportunity for us to raise $500.00 or more. As we get closer to this event, we will need band kids to volunteer to work this event. Please start selling to everyone you know!!
Chicken Express
Remember to eat at Chicken Express on the first Monday of the month 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Summer dates are Monday, 7/5/10 and Monday, 8/2/10.
Note: Cash tips / donations only. If you leave a tip/donation on your credit card it remains with the establishment.
Cici's Spirit Night
Remember to eat at CiCi's Pizza on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Summer dates are Wednesday, 7/28/10 and Wednesday, 8/25/10.
Be sure to place your receipt in the bucket for the band to get credit for your visit.
McAlister's Deli
Remember to eat at McAlister's Deli on the second Tuesday of the month from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.. Summer dates are Tuesday, 7/13/10 and Tuesday, 8/10/10.
Note: New fundraiser process~no band kids are required to work these any longer. Also they will now require a flyer/coupon to accompany your order, however with that change we go from 10% of everything to 20% of sales with the flyer/coupon. Plus as before...tips and donations go directly to the band! Don't worry...if you forget your flyer/coupon they have offered to leave some at the registers for your convenience.
