How do I check out a book?

All students must present their current school ID in order to check out a book at the circulation desk.

How many items can I check out?

Students may checkout three items at a time, providing none are overdue.

What about rechecking books?

Any items may be renewed if there is no request for the item from another student.

Where do I put materials I want to return?

As you enter our library, look for the red book cart by the main circulation desk where returned items should be placed for checked in.

What happens when something is overdue/late?

Books are due back to the library in three weeks and are marked with the due date in the back of the book. As long as the book is returned, a late fee will not be assessed. However, if the book is not returned, the student will be responsible for the full cost of the book. Students that have overdue books are at risk of being on the Loss of Privilege (LOP) list and possibly lose exam exemptions or other privileges.

What happens if I lose or damage an item?

If you lose a book or magazine, you will be charged for the cost of the book or magazine. If you find the item later and return it in good condition, you will receive a refund. If an item is so damaged that it can't be returned to the shelf, you will be charged for the cost of the item. If an item is just slightly damaged, the charge will be based on district guidelines.

Does it cost to print?

Students are allowed to print on the library printers. We do not charge for B/W printer copies that are needed for school assignments.  If a document is more than 10 pages, we prefer for the student to inform us before printing.  We do charge for color prints and the cost is based on the image size and intensity of the colors.  Access to color printing is through the librarians, only.  We have a photocopier available for use at a cost of 10 cents per page; double-sided copies are 20 cents each.
