F.A.Q.s

How do I check out a book?

Students will check out books with their school ID numbers. They can either scan their ID badges or manually type in their number on the provided key pad.

How many items can I check out?

Students may checkout five items at a time. Exceptions are allowed if students need additional books.

Need additional resources?

Please visit our online Library catalog to view our eBook collection to supplement other needed reading materials. Also, via the home page of the catalog you can link to our various database resources for English, Science, Social Studies, Math, College and Career preparation and practice tests, journal and newspaper articles, ebooks and much more.  Below the page of widgets, you will also find a list of links for other online and local links to educational resources.  See librarians for username and password.

What about rechecking books?

Any items may be renewed if there is no request for the item from another student.

Where do I put materials I want to return?

As you enter our library, look for the basket by the main circulation desk where returned items should be placed for check in.

What happens when something is overdue/late?

Books are due back to the library in three weeks. As long as the book is returned, a late fee will not be assessed. However, if the book is not returned, the student will be responsible for the full cost of the book. Students that have overdue books are at risk of being on the Loss of Privilege (LOP) list and possibly lose exam exemptions or other privileges.

What happens if I lose or damage an item?

If you lose a book or magazine, you will be charged for the cost of the book or magazine. If you find the item later and return it in good condition, you will receive a refund. If an item is so damaged that it can't be returned to the shelf, you will be charged for the cost of the item. If an item is just slightly damaged, the charge will be based on district guidelines.

Does it cost to print?

Black and white copies – 10 cents/page

Color copies – range from 25 cents to $1 a page based on color saturation
