What Makes This School Different
Watson is a school with the "real world" in mind. Students work together in teams to reach common goals by dividing big projects into smaller tasks shared by individual team members. Students use interdisciplinary skills to solve problems. The curriculum is aligned to allow for the integration of other subject areas--through math, science and technology themes. Emphasis is placed on cooperative learning.
Grade levels are equipped with IPods, Macbooks and IPads. Teachers frequently use multimedia stations to incorporate the Internet into their lessons. Students present their class projects using all the technology available to them.
Each student in grades 2-5 has two core teachers daily. One teaches English language arts and social studies classes, and the other provides the math and science curriculum.
