Checkout Procedures

Check out begins the second week of school. Each class has a set day to go to library. Check with your child's teacher to know which day your child needs to have their books ready to turn in.

Kinder and First graders are allowed to check out one book per week. After winter break, first graders will be allowed to check out two books.

2nd-5th grades will check out two books per week. One book should be on their reading level for AR testing and the other at any level just for fun.

Open checkout is available daily from 8:00-8:45 and from 2:30-3:00. Also all day on Mondays except from 9:45-10:15 and 2:00-2:30.

Tips from the librarian

• Please keep library books in backpacks when they are not being read. This way, their books will be with them on their library day, and they will be able to check out new ones.
• The books are due 1 week after checkout on your child's next library day.
• If your child has an overdue book, they cannot check out a new book until the overdue book is returned.
• If they lose their book, please let us know, and we will send a notice of the book's cost. After the lost book is paid for, your child can check out other books again.
