The journalism team won first place overall, and the following students placed in their individual competitions with the top three advancing to Regionals:

The Mighty Eagle Band competed in the UIL Area Marching Contest on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2014 and has qualified for the State Marching Contest for the 6th time. The Rowlett High School Mighty Eagle Band is the only band in GISD to ever qualify and compete at the UIL State Marching Competition. We are so proud of our band. Go Eagles!
Centennial Marching Contest
Congratulations to the Mighty Eagle Band on their outstanding showing at the Centennial Marching Contest held on Saturday, Oct. 4, in Frisco. The band competed against some of the best bands in our area and placed first in preliminary competition and earned "Best Marching", "Best Music" and overall "Grand Champion" in finals competition.
The band will compete on Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Carrollton Tournament of Champions and will defend their title from a year ago.
UIL Choral Evaluation
Congratulations to all the RHS Choirs who represented our school at the UIL Choral Evaluation the week of April 6.
All Choirs who participated came home with Superior ratings in both Concert and Sightreading. Choirs performing at UIL were the Chorale, the Acappella Mixed Choir, Acappella Men’s Choir, and the Acappella Women.
We are proud of all their hard work throughout the year in striving for Choral excellence throughout our region and state. Way to go Rowlett Choirs!
All State Choir
Congratulations to 3 Rowlett High School choir students who were named to the 2015 Texas All State Choir on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Area Auditions held at Texas A&M Commerce. We are extremely proud of Taylor Nash, Soprano 1, placing Chair #2 in the Mixed Choir; Preston Hart, Bass 1, placing Chair #2 in the Mixed Choir; and Maritza Moreno, Alto 1, placing Chair #4 in the Women’s Choir.These students will attend the Texas Music Educators Clinic/Convention in San Antonio Feb. 11-14, 2015 and work with nationally-recognized conductors in many hours of rehearsals with other accomplished choral students from around the state, culminating in a memorable concert performance on Feb. 14.
KickersWFAA recently did a storyon two of our Varsity Football Team Kickers. We are very proud of Josh Williams and Drew Galitz. We have so many great students at RHS, we love to see them recognized beyond our campus.
Football Players Honored
During half-time at the varsity football game on Friday, Oct. 31 two RHS Eagles received football jerseys for the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl to be played on Jan. 4, 2015.
