Program Recognitions

Students who begin the magnet program in 9th grade in 2014-2015  will have the opportunity to study in China the summer before their senior year. They must have three credits in Mandarin Chinese to be eligible.

Qualification Criteria

  • 75th Percentile or higher on reading and math achievement tests
  • Must be passing all subjects on report card
  • Must pass all assessments on STAAR/EOC
  • No serious discipline issues

Final acceptance is determined using the qualification criteria. If more students apply than space allows, a lottery process will be used and remaining names will be placed in a waiting pool for possible future openings.
