This year, parents may subscribe to our e-News. If you would like to receive email notices from Austin Academy, a link to e-News can be found at the bottom of the Austin Academy website. Notices are sent out approximately once per week with information about upcoming presentations, grading updates, and other AAE news.
A great summer ahead
We hope that you have a wonderful, enjoyable, and adventurous summer. If you are able to travel, please do so safely. If you will be staying close to home, we hope to see you around the area.
Wherever your summer may take you, be sure to take a good book with you. We are pleased to be hosting Gordon Korman at our school in October. He has written several books including Swindled, Schooled, and 2 of the books in The 39 Clues series.
School begins again on August 23. We look forward to seeing you rested and eager for more learning. Our sixth graders will have an opportunity to tour the school and meet homeroom teachers on Aug 14. If you ordered school supplies through the PTA, they will be delivered at that time.

Summer Reading lists distributed to students
Lists of required and recommended reading are now available to students and parents. Please look over the lists as some of the books will be required reading for class. Other books are recommended for your enjoyment.
All of the grade levels will be reading a book by Gordon Korman. He will be at Austin Academy in Oct for an author's visit. We are very excited to have him talk with our students.

Online Resources now available
GarlandISD and Austin Academy are dedicated to our students and are working to provide every opportunity for their success. We are happy to provide several online programs for use at home. Please see our Links and Resources page for more information.
School Supply Lists now available
If you were not able to order supplies through the PTA, lists are now available to parents and students.
The Passbooks are coming!
Austin Academy will be selling passbooks again as our school-wide fund raiser. We have new prizes available for students selling 2, 5 or 10 books. There are also additional coupons added to the book this year. We hope that we can count on your support.
