Home of the Bears

See You Next Year

Thank you for a great year! We look forward to seeing all returning students for the first day of school on Monday, August 25, 2014.

Girls' Athletics Notice

6th and 7th Grade girls who expressed interest in being in Athletics next year have received two items of paperwork:  a physical packet and a uniform order form. The physical packet must be filled out by the athletic candidate or parent as well as by a physician. The uniform order form is due with money by June 6th (last day of instruction) and the physical packet is due by August 25th (first day of instruction 2014-2015). Extra physcial packets are located in the front office.

There will be a parent meeting for incoming 7th grade parents on Tuesday, August 26th at 5:30 p.m. in the Competition Gym. Please plan to attend.

If you have any questions regarding girls' athletics, please contact Coach Flick.

Summer School Programs

Garland ISD offers summer school programs designed to serve the educational needs of a variety of students. Some are "traditional" summer school classes, some are special programs, and others are presented in a "day camp" format.

Football Camps

A variety of football camps will be held at Naaman Forest High School this summer. Camps will be available for students entering the 3rd-6th Grade as well as students entering the 9th Grade.

Summer Reading

Incoming 7th and 8th graders are required to read one novel over the summer from the District Summer Reading List. Students should bring their novel to school the first week of the 2014-2015 school year. If you have any questions, please email Lisa Gatewood at lggatewo@garlandisd.net

Incoming 6th Graders are not required to read a novel over the summer. Incoming 9th graders will need to visit the high school's website they will be attending to inquire about their summer reading requirement.
