Welcome to Hudson Middle School a Texas Education Agency “Recognized School”.  Our faculty and staff look forward to providing your children a well-rounded foundation in academics, fine arts, and athletics, anchored with an appreciation of excellent citizenship and civic responsibility.

I encourage you to continue  to be involved in your student’s progress throughout  their middle school years, to assure that they are prepared for the academic demands of high school and beyond in this rapidly changing technological world.

HMS Art News

On April 1^st Hudson took 44 pieces to the district art show and brought home 56 ribbons.

Hudson had 15 pieces ranked as CRAFTSMAN

Hudson has 29 pieces ranked as MASTERY with 15 perfect scores

Last Saturday, April 20^th, Hudson took 36 students with 38 pieces of art work to the Jr. Visual Scholastic Art Event (Jr. VASE) in Coppell, TX to compete against artist from all across Region 10.

HMS Robotics Team

Hudson robotics team qualifies for Vex World Championship in Anaheim, CA!

Thien Nguyen (8^th grade), Parker Youngman (8^th grade), Khang Vo (7^th grade) and their robot, Thor, beat out middle schools and high schools from all over the region to become tournament champions in the Garland Texas VEX Robotics League.

The students will travel to Anaheim in April to compete against other middle school teams from all over the world.

Garland ISD Robotics Summer Camp for 8th Graders

The Garland ISD Robotics Summer Camp is back and is taking applications.
The camp dates are June 10 - 14, 2013.
Those interested must Register by May 20^th
Seats are limited!

HMS Pentathlon Team

7^th and 8^th grade Pentathlon teams competed Saturday, April 6 at Lyles Middle School.  Both grades will go on to the Regional Competition Saturday, April 27^th at Webb Middle School.
Also, Pentathlon is taking applications for next year.

FCCLA News

We are pleased to announce that all 4 groups who competed in the regional competition have advanced to state! We took home three 1st place plaques and one 2nd place plaque! The state competition will be April 11^th, 12^th, and 13^th.

Hudson Celebrates Cultures: Cinco De Mayo

On Friday, May 3^rd Husdon students and staff celebrated Cinco De Mayo with an assembly in the gym. There were: Football Dribbling Contests, Pinata Smashing, A Parade of Flags, and more.

8th Grade Semi-Formal Dance

The 8^th grade Semi-Formal Dance will be on Saturday, May 18^th, 2013.

It will be held in the Hudson Middle School Large Gym from 7pm to 10pm.
There will be light food and drinks served, as well as photographers offering picture packages.
Dress will be semi-formal. No T-shirts, shorts, or jeans.

Hudson's May Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to Ms. Judy Jaremski, who has been chosen by her peers to be named May's Teacher of the Month.

Ms. Jaremski has been teaching at Hudson for seven (7) years. She teaches ESL to our 6^th and 7^th graders.
