South Garland High School
News, Events and Announcements
Congratulations are in Order
South Garland High School is proud to announce that we have a national award winner in the house! The HOSA Department took Erik Sorto to Florida for the Nationals HOSA Competition. He took 3rd place in Clinical Specialty out of 56 students representing each of the 50 states and Puerto Rico. In this competition, only the top 10 are recognized and only the top 3 receive medals.
Erik's specialty is Radiology Technician. To compete in this contest, he had to create a portfolio, create a DVD of himself demonstrating a skill that a radiology technician would do, and then, he had to go before a panel of judges and field questions about the profession. He will be the HOSA president for South Garland High School for the 2014-2015 school year. The entire community of South Garland High School is very proud of this young man.
