College and Career Readiness
Getting students prepared to make wise college and career choices is a priority here at South. We strive to ensure students and their families have the necessary information to make important decisions regarding college and career. There are many places students and families can get this information. The Counselor's page is designed to guide students and their families to online resources offering college information and career information. The Library Page is a gateway to online databases and additional websites. Also, take at look at the Senior Newsletter, it offers information on upcoming college visits, testing dates, and scholorships.
The SGHS AVID Program's primary purpose is to prepare students for college. Check out the AVID Events Page to learn more about what AVID does to prepare SGHS students for college!

STARS (Students Teaching About Relationships and Sucess)
 |
STARS is an in-school mentor program that pairs upperclassman with freshman students so that these students can have someone to look up to and imitate. The STARS mentors will be teaching the freshman about relationships, goal setting, character, self-image, the media, boundary setting, and refusal skills.
STARS is also about living a healthy lifestyle. At STARS, we believe that it is important to make healthy decisions so that you can pursue your goals and dreams. This program is a great way for students to be surrounded by their peers so that they can have the support they need to make healthy decisions.
