Parents, you can watch our Beaver Star announcements live! You can either watch it live at 8 a.m. sharp or anytime at your convenience. Please check your child's Thursday folder for the password. Tune in here to see our Beaver Stars in action!
Final Elective Registration
The third and final elective cycle begins on Friday, April 10. The attached elective catalog lists and describes courses offered during this cycle. Please read through the catalog and help your children select their top three choices. Students will register for their courses at school on Wednesday, March 25. Please contact us if you have questions.

Relevant Learning Experiences
One of our goals here at Beaver MST is to make learning relevant for students by connecting what we learn at school to the real-world. Spirit Sticks are for sale on the first Friday of each month and during special events. We will also have special edition Sticks on sale during the holidays. Sticks are $1 each and the money raised goes towards purchasing more sticks. Read more...
We are still accepting orders for the school yearbook. If you would like to place an order there are forms in the office and order forms will be sent home weekly in Thursday folders. Magnet schools feature special programs not offered at other schools. In Garland ISD, there are twelve magnet schools for a variety of students: gifted/talented students, students with a high interest in math, science, and technology, students interested in classical studies, global business, Mandarin Chinese and students focused on college and career preparation. Box Tops for Education
Thanks to everyone who saved Boxtops, we had a successful Boxtops collection this past fall. With the money received from Boxtops, we are ordering two iPad minis for the music room. We still need more, so please keep sending your Boxtops to school.

Grade Level Blogs and Communication
Clear communication between school and home is vital to student success and academic growth. At Beaver MST, we understand the importance of clear, consistent communication and we are always looking for ways to improve how we communicate. As technology changes, so should the way we communicate and involve parents in the learning process. Over the course of the school year classroom teachers will maintain grade level websites and content specific blogs to disseminate information and share content. You can visit grade level sites for general grade level information on upcoming field trips, projects, dates, etc. For information on specific contents areas or assignments, visit the blogs or pages that are linked to the websites.

We are excited to introduce our newest faculty member, SAMMY (Students Achieving Morals and Manners Yearlong). SAMMY the beaver promotes a school-wide social skills and character development program. Each week SAMMY will bring new insight to our students about social skills and how to interact with others. Guests will come on our daily video announcements with SAMMY to discuss and explain the social skill or Insight of the Week. Sometimes he doesn't always say the right thing and the guest will provide clarification. Beaver students are always excited to tune in to our announcements and see what message he has for the week.
