AR

Cooper has a new AR system in place for the students this year. The new system is more about their personal levels and goals. There is a Website that you are able to get into from home to look up AR levels and quiz numbers for specific books. The Website is www.arbookfind.com.  We hope you and your children really enjoy this new system.

Checkout Procedures

Cooper Library

• Checkout Times:

  • Library Class - once per week
  • Daily - Books may be returned and new ones selected daily as teachers and time allow.

  Checkout Period:

  From library day to the next day - one week.

  All books checked out to the student are due into the library on his/her library day - even those checked out during the week.  They may, however, renew them up to two times.

  Checkout Limits:

  • Kindergarten:  1 book

            Kinders will begin checking books out to leave at school by the beginning of

            September.  Books will go home with them by the beginning of November.

  • 1st Grade:       1 book at first and then 2 books after the first six weeks.

  • 2nd - 5th Grades:  2 books - one within the student target reading range (AR) and 1 of choice regardless of level or subject.

  Fines:

  • No fines for returning books late.
  • Damaged or ruined books will be assessed by the librian from $0.10 up to the price of the book.
