Checkout Procedures
Kindergarten and First Grade = 1 book maximum
Second Grade and Third Grade = 2 books maximum
Fourth Grade and Fifth Grade = 3 books maximum
All classes come to library once a week, and students may return and check out new books daily during open check-out times. No overdue fines are charged, but students will not be allowed to check out more than the maximum number of books for their grade level until overdue book(s) are returned.
Special Programs/Activities
Texas Bluebonnet Award - Grades 3-5 will read at least 5 books nominated for this award beginning in September. Students who read at least 5 nominated books will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite nominated book in January.
Six Flag's Six Hour Reading Club - All students (grades K-5) are encouraged to complete six hours of recreational reading to earn a free tick to Six Flags. More information about this program will be sent home in January.
Pizza Hut Book It! Reading Incentive Program - Teachers determine monthly reading goals for this program. Rewards include coupons for free pizza!
Scholastic Book Fairs - Two book fairs are scheduled for the 2008-2009 school year: October 27-31, 2008 and March 9-13, 2009.
