Welcome Marvin Sedberry

Marvin Sedberry is our new Head Football Coach and Athletic Director.  Mr. Sedberry comes to GISD from Baytown, where he served as Robert E. Lee High School’s athletic coordinator and head football coach since 2009. He held the same position at Fort Worth’s Polytechnic High School for two years prior to that. And Sedberry served as an offensive coordinator at Lake Highlands High School from 2005-2007.

At Naaman Forest, he hopes to build on the school’s strong athletic foundation–evidenced by playoff appearances in multiple sports.

“I plan to finish out this year strong and then work to become bigger, faster and stronger over the summer,” he said. “My focus first and foremost, though, is to get to know the athletes and coaches. I want to take their talents, mesh them with mine and see if we can raise the bar a little higher.”

Not just a football coach, Sedberry is a self-proclaimed advocate of multisport participation, believing it increases the success of an athletic program as a whole.
