Accelerated Reader (AR)
Students read at their own level and pace and then take quizzes over the books and stories read. The Garland Public Library System has a list of our AR quizzes.

Texas Bluebonnet Award
Grades 3-5 – September – January of every school year. Out of 20 nominated books on each year’s list, at least five are required to be read or heard, to be able to vote for the year’s winner.
Six Flag’s Six Hour Reading Club
Complete six hours of recreational reading and earn a ticket to Six Flags. This program usually runs January through the first week of March.
Pizza Hut’s Book It
Teachers set monthly reading goals in these incentive programs offered to students.
