Arts

Through art, our students work on expressing their emotions, strengthening fine motor skills, build language, use critical thinking, and develop social skills. Below are a examples of students' art work.

Students use various shapes to create a monster based on their feelings.

The storybook Glad Monster, Sad Monster by Ed Emberly was used to help preschoolers identify, understand, and handle their feelings.

Students use different materials to construct a self-portrait of themselves.

Students created a self-portrait to introduce themselves to their new School Family.

School hallways display students' family tree and self-portrait projects.

Our school hallways proudly display our students' class and home projects.

Family Trees are displayed in the hallway.

Together with their families, students created a family tree while learning about extended family members.

Music

Walk into any of our prekindergarten classrooms and you will notice that at some point our students will be singing and dancing or even listening to music while they work. Through music, our students learn about patterns, movement, listening skills, rhymes, new vocabulary, and many other academic skills.
