Ace the Aviator proudly stands with Armstrong's name sake, John W. Armstrong. We are the only school in Garland ISD to be named after a former student.

Calendar

Students compete for the chance to advance to the county Dallas County Spelling Bee.


Students in grades 4 to 8 compete in the district's annual spelling bee. The top winners advance to the Dallas County Spelling Bee.

Teachers, students and staff will enjoy a holiday for MLK day.


This federal holiday celebrates Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights leader, a minister, and the winner of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize.

This day is a student and staff holiday.

The Lunar New Year marks the start of the new year for calendars across the world that use moon cycles to create dates. 2025 is the Year of the Snake.

Let's unite for heart health awareness. Show your support and wear red.


Heart disease accounts for nearly 1 of every 3 deaths. But, we can change that. 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. That's why we are wearing something red on this day to show support and raise awareness about heart health.

Last day for students entering grades 1-12 to make their top six campus selections and magnet applications.


Students entering grades 1-12 must make their top 6 campus selections and apply for magnets by Monday, Feb. 10.

Both Magnet Applications and Choice of School will use the same application system and take place at the same time.

Students will have the day as a holiday off. Staff will come in for a staff development day.

Delegate meeting for the Council of PTAs.


General meeting for Garland ISD's Council of PTAs. These meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month.

The campus principal or their designee, the PTA president, and two council delegates are invited to attend each general meeting.  Please note that meetings will either be at Harris Hill or Student Services due to room availability.
