Hello, Armstrong Aviators!

My name is Jolie Scott and I'm beginning my 3rd year as the proud principal of Armstrong Elementary. I grew up in Garland ISD and attended Vial Elementary, Coyle Middle School, and Lakeview Centennial High School. My teaching career began at Rowlett Elementary where I taught 4th grade and then I continued at Stephens Elementary as a 3rd and 1st grade teacher. Before serving 5 years as the assistant principal at Armstrong, I was the interventionist at Spring Creek Elementary for 3 years. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a reading specialization at the University of North Texas and a Master in Educational Leadership at Lamar University. On a personal note, I am a mom of two grown sons and a daughter. Seven years ago, we welcomed my beautiful grandson into the world. I love to spend as much time as I can with my family, as well as travel and read good books! Armstrong has always been known for being one of the best schools in Garland ISD and I am so proud to be a part of this outstanding community of parents, students, and staff. I look forward to seeing our Aviator families as we work together for a successful school year!

Welcome, Aviator Families!

I’m Dr. Lashana Morgan, and I am honored to serve as the assistant principal of Armstrong Elementary. At the heart of my work is one simple belief: every child deserves to be known, supported, and challenged to become the very best version of themselves.

During my 12 years in education, I have served in both elementary and secondary settings as a teacher, instructional specialist and coach, adjunct professor, and administrative intern. I have proudly spent eight of those years in Garland ISD and earned my Doctor of Education in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University.

Outside of school, I am a wife and proud mom of three—one in college, one in high school, and one in Pre-K. Having children at three very different stages keeps me busy, grounded, and mindful of the trust families place in their children’s schools. I also enjoy traveling, shopping, and spending time with the people I love.

I lead with high expectations, a caring heart, and a commitment to doing what is right for children. I look forward to partnering with our families, supporting our incredible staff, and helping make Armstrong a place where every Aviator feels valued and has the opportunity to thrive.
