A critical key to a successful education is the family. Austin Academy is a member of the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Both parents and community members are invited to become integral members of the school "family," and serve in many capacities throughout the school.
Your involvement in your child's education is more important than you know. If you have talents or abilities that might provide support or assistance to our school, please let us know!
The AAE PTA gives a focus to community, and each month hosts a community project. Just as PTA gives back to the school, they want the students at AAE to learn to give back to our community.
The current community project for November and December is a book drive.
AAE has partnered with a campus Girl Scout in the aid of creating a library, game, and fun center for the Family Place for both of their locations. The Family Place is a shelter for abused women, men and their children. It offers a secure location (for those who need it), job training, life skills, and counseling…all in a home-like setting with an after-care and mentoring program. This "center" helps families interact together, as well as start the healing process. When the families transition out of the Family Place, they take several books and games with them, so the family can continue to use them for family time and as a fun way to continue the recovery process. Please donate new and/or gently used books and games to be given to the Family Place to help build their inventory.
