Activities

When choosing a school, Back Elementary provides a wide range of activities, programs, and events throughout the school year. Our activities enhance student learning, family involvement and volunteering. Students can participate in many in-school programs and extra-curricular activities promoting leadership and personal growth. Check the Back Calendar for dates and more information on school activities.

Awards, incentives and recognition

High-fives in the hallways, smiles, and a positive "Way-to-go!" are common sights and sounds at Back Elementary. Daily encouragement and a positive atmosphere provides a friendly, nurturing environment for students.

Attendance

Attendance at school is important. School attendance is important for academic success and growth. We use school incentives to encourage and motivate students to have perfect attendance.

Awards Ceremony

The end-of-year Awards Ceremony recognizes outstanding achievements and effort in our students every semester. The Awards Ceremony takes place in the cafeteria, and parents, grandparents, and family members are invited to attend. A valid picture ID is required when checking in at the front office.

Birthdays

Students are recognized by name on the school morning announcements for their birthday. When a child's birthday falls on a weekend or holiday, their names are called the school day before to ensure that all students are recognized. Each student is gifted a birthday pencil for their birthday.

Principal's 100

Each week, students are chosen from each class to receive recognition for outstanding performance in grades, citizenship, diligence, and other positive traits. Students are recognized on the school morning announcements every other week and are added to the Principal's 100 list.
