Arts

students in art class

Back Elementary believes that art, music and dance into the student's curriculum is important for critical thinking, enhanced problem-solving, good judgment, and teaching them that there is more than one way to tackle a project.  It promotes kindness and acceptance of diversity when the same art piece comes out differently for everyone or music means different things to different people.  The arts are a strong motivator in keeping students interested in school.

Art club

Mrs. Pollay, Art Teacher. Art Club is available for 5th graders who are interested in learning more about art and participating in advanced projects. Art Club students are able to express themselves creatively and work more independently. Projects have included paper-mache sculptures, sewing, glass fusing, and adding a painted fence post to the portrait fence displayed at the front of the school.

Music classroom

Mrs. Nelson, the music teacher, helps students explore new musical ideas through singing, movement, game play, and playing multiple instruments.  Use what talents you possess. The woods would be silent if no birds sang except those who sang best.
