Math, Science, Technology Magnet
Beaver Technology Center is a K-5 magnet school with an emphasis on math, science, and technology. All subjects are taught with a heavy emphasis on classroom use of technology and hands-on problem solving.
Students enjoy enriched learning opportunities such as planting in the greenhouse, forecasting the weather via the weather station, and studying the stars in the portable planetarium.
At Beaver, students are engaged in authentic collaboration and problem-solving as they develop real-world skills and habits.
More information is to apply is available on the Math, Science, Technology magnet page.
During most Fridays, students enjoy participating in an elective course for enrichment learning. STEAMschool takes place during two nine-week cycles. Students choose their top three choices from a catalog of courses and are placed in one elective.
STEAMschool courses cover a wide array of topics that fall under the topics of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Some of our courses include Minecraft, planting in the greenhouse, Animation Moviemaking, World Cultures, and so much more.
Beyond science and engineering principles, VEX Robotics encourages creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving among groups.
Students become familiar with programming, sensors, and automation. Students also develop critical computational thinking skills needed to succeed in both the 21st century's workforce and in everyday life.
