Brandenburg wins summer reading challenge

The Classical Center at Brandenburg Middle School won GISD's Summer Reading Challenge for the middle school category. Our students read over 1,000 hours.

The winning campuses, as well as individual top student readers, will be recognized for their efforts at the Literacy for Life event. Brandenburg students that read over 200 minutes in myON are being recognized with a certificate and recognition during announcements.

Literacy for Life is a free community-wide event that hosts opportunities to promote literacy skills for all. The Literacy for Life event will take place on Saturday, September 21 at the Curtis Culwell Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will have a book walk, literacy make and take, poetry cafe, writing challenges, and a book character parade.
