Band program

The Brandenburg Band program provides a comprehensive musical experience for its students with a special emphasis placed on providing a positive learning environment where students can fully develop their talents supported by a character education program.  The band program offers a variety of opportunities to develop the musical interests and aptitudes of each child, especially in the areas of Concert and Solo & Ensemble performance.

The Brandenburg Band is comprised of several different bands. Beginning Band is for students (generally 6^th grade) who have not yet completed one year of Beginning Band class, so no previous experience is required. Students meet in like-instrument classes and spend the year learning as much as possible about their instrument. Students learn how to read music, produce sound, perform as individuals and groups and become technically proficient on their instruments.  At the end of the year, students audition to get placed in one of the following bands for the next school year:

• Concert Band
• Symphonic Band
• Honors Band
