Principal Brian Trichell

Greetings and salutations Bullock families. My name is Brian Trichell and it is with great pride and pleasure that I am continuing the role of principal of Bullock Elementary School. I am starting my 25th year in education, and truly believe that this is where I am supposed to be. Bullock is a fabulous school with a rich tradition thanks to all of the families who have entrusted their children’s educational needs to Bullock. We take great pride in the work that we do here on a daily basis and hope to build lasting relationships that will help propel your children and our students to college and career readiness.

Prior to Bullock, I served as assistant principal at Walnut Glen Academy for Excellence. I was the AP at Walnut Glen for 4 years. Prior to that, I was a classroom teacher in both Garland and Dallas ISD for 15 years. I taught P.E., 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 5th grade before becoming an assistant principal.

I am married to a wonderful woman and have two beautiful children. My son Alexander is 11 years old and my daughter Chloe is 7. I enjoy traveling, being a dad and spending time with my wife and kids. Having elementary age children helps keep things in perspective for me from the aspect of a parent. I do not take this responsibility for granted and will always look to do what is best for kids. I welcome the opportunity to work with you and to continue building on the greatness of the school community as a whole. Bullock Bears do it Best.

I am honored to serve the Bullock Elementary School community as the Assistant Principal! I strive to collaborate with our exceptional educators and families to provide an excellent educational experience conducive to our students' growth and academic success.

I am originally from Colombia and proudly became an American citizen in 2020. I have been an educator for 26 years as a bilingual teacher, an instructional coach, and a school administrator. I have spent most of my career in Garland ISD, and I have been serving our district for 15 years.

I received my Bachelor of Education in Foreign Languages from the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS)  in Colombia. I obtained my master's degree in the Arts of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Greensboro College in North Carolina. I am completing a doctoral program in Organizational Leadership at Abilene Christian University (ACU).

I believe in the transformative power of education because of the opportunities that education has afforded me. Therefore,  I look forward to working alongside our families and staff to continue strengthening our school-home relationships to affect our students' learning positively. If I can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Let's make this the best year ever because at Bullock Elementary School: We are better together!
