Arts
Arts are an important part of educating the whole child. At Bullock Elementary, we believe in providing opportunities for students to utilize their creativity and talents in the performing and visual arts. All students participate in our elementary music program, which also includes theater art activities.
Art
Elizabeth Green - Art Teacher
As the elementary art teacher at Bullock, I am dedicated to fostering creativity and imagination in every student. Through a dynamic curriculum, I strive to inspire young minds to explore various artistic techniques and mediums, allowing them to express themselves authentically. With a focus on cultivating both technical skills and artistic appreciation, my goal is to empower students to become confident creators and critical thinkers! I believe that art education plays a vital role in developing well-rounded individuals, and I am committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive and discover the joy of making art.
Music
Amy Austin - Music Teacher
The music curriculum at Bullock is largely based on the teachings and philosophy of Zoltan Kodaly. The Kodaly method is a highly sequential and a method which uses the voice as its main instrument. The goal of the Hungarian based method is to promote musical literacy through the performance of folk tunes.
Each child at Bullock has one music lesson per week. Each lesson is filled with skills such as singing, playing instruments, music games, folk dancing, reading, writing and creating music. Our goal of the music program at Bullock is to cultivate a musically literate child who can go on to enjoy music throughout their lifetime.
