Attendance

Students should be in attendance at all times unless ill. Students will need a signed note from their parents when they have been absent. Students should give these notes to their homeroom teacher. If it is necessary for a child to be excused from school early for a doctor’s appointment, etc., that information will be handled through the office.

To ensure that your child is in the classroom the maximum amount of time, he or she will be called out of class upon your arrival. Picture identification is required before signing your child out of school. In the event your child will be missing several days of school due to illness, please call the school.

  • Students are tardy after 8:11 a.m. Students arriving after 8:20 a.m. or who leave before regular dismissal are subsequent to receive a partial day absence. Students are considered absent after 10 a.m. Students must be in attendance 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for the year.
  • Send a signed note to the front office following each absence. Be sure to include your child’s ID number, reason for absence and a parent/guardian signature.

For more information on attendance, see the district's attendance webpage.

Parent involvement

Bullock Elementary School recognizes that a child’s education is a responsibility shared by the school and family during the entire period the child spends in school. To support the goal that all children succeed academically and in life, the school and parents must work together as partners.
