Parent involvement

Parents are always welcome here at Bussey. During testing, parents volunteer as bathroom and hall monitors. Every year, parents and former students help with our Hispanic Heritage festivities by promoting, organizing, and monitoring. Please contact our office for all the exciting upcoming volunteering opportunities! Parents must complete the GISD volunteering process prior to attending any events.

Hoonuit access for GISD parents

GISD and Hoonuit now offer 24/7 online training and support for hundreds of software applications ex: Microsoft, Google, and iPad apps.

Parents can sign up to receive practical parenting tips via email by subscribing to GISD's Family Engagement eNews.

Parent access to student test data

TEA has developed a data entrance that allows parents to have access to their student's assessment information across administrations.

Data Portal login link

Click on "Go to Student Portal"

  • Enter "Unique Access Code" (which is located at the bottom of the student's confidential student report)
  • Enter the student's date of birth

The reports provide historical state assessment data for TAKS and TELPAS for each student. The goal of this online system is to assist students and parents with tracking academic progress. The site is user friendly and the reports are easy to understand.
