My name is Raelyn Scroggin and I am honored to be the principal at Caldwell Elementary. I have been a teacher, assistant principal and principal in the Garland ISD since 1999. I started my educational career as a teacher at O’Banion Middle School and Brandenburg Middle School. Then, I got the wonderful opportunity to be an assistant principal at Sam Houston Middle School, Freeman Elementary and Armstrong Elementary. Most recently I served as the principal at Park Crest Elementary before coming to Caldwell Elementary in 2017.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Howard Payne University and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Texas A & M Commerce.
On a personal note, I am married with two sons. My favorite thing to do outside of school is spend time with my family. Both of my sons love playing sports, so I spend most of my free time on the baseball field, football field or basketball court.
Caldwell is s special school with wonderful parents and students. I love being a part of this Caldwell Cardinal Family. I look forward to seeing our students continue to grow this year!
I am pleased to be the Assistant Principal at Caldwell Elementary. I am very excited to work with students, families, teachers, and the community. My experiences in education include being an administrative intern, second grade teacher, third grade teacher, and district committee member.
I earned both my graduate and undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. My graduate degree is in Education Leadership and Policy Studies, and my undergraduate degree is in elementary education. My goal is to make sure students and teachers are continuously improving by meeting their needs and supporting them in any way that I can.
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. I grew up in a single-parent household in an area much like our school’s community. I have one brother and one nephew, whom I adore. I try to spend as much time talking and hanging out with them. In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching movies, and traveling.
