Hello. My name is Meaghan Tichenor and I am the counselor here at Caldwell. I am excited to be at such a great school with wonderful students and staff. I graduated from The University of Texas in 2005 and then went on to complete my Master’s degree in school counseling.
Mrs. Meaghan Tichenor is someone who you will want to get to know. She can assist you as you progress through elementary school. You must make an appointment to see her.

The vision of Caldwell Elementary’s counseling program is an ability to provide a safe and caring environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. Through guidance and training students should reach their goals of becoming productive and life-long learners.
2019-2020 Caldwell Elementary Mission Statement
The mission of Caldwell Elementary’s counseling program is to ensure all student’s social, educational, and career development potential to become responsible and well-adjusted citizens.
Each month, a different character trait will be stressed. If a child is displaying one of the monthly traits, they will receive a ticket. The tickets are put into a weekly drawing where the students may win prizes or privileges. These character traits include respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, caring, citizenship, and fairness.
What can Mrs. Tichenor do for me?
Counselors will help you by:
- reviewing your choice of subject during the registration period (February - April)
- providing study skills and academic information
- providing career and college information
- helping in teacher/student relationships
- helping cope with family issues
- listening to concerns about friends, etc.
- giving you information about life and decision-making skills
- referring you to people or places outside of school for help if necessary
- being your advocate – counselors are here for you!
Counselors for each campus are certified by the state of Texas in School Counseling, have a Master’s Degree, and previous teaching experience. Each elementary school has a guidance counselor to help ensure that adequate support for helping students to succeed and meet their goals is available.
Calling all parents to action
We truly care about our Caldwell Cardinals and want them as safe and happy as possible. We care not only about their academic success, we also want them to be successful as wonderful and compassionate human beings. In order to do that, we need to work together as a giant family and make sure all of their needs are being taken care of. Part of being successful at life is being kind and tolerant of other people.
