Literacy for Life is a district initiative and community-wide partnership designed to foster the literacy needs of students. Along with the tri-cities of Garland, Rowlett and Sachse, we are working to create a community of readers.

We aim to encourage everyone in the community to read by using a balanced approach in teaching literacy, expanding bilingual programs, increasing dyslexia services and providing 24/7 access to a personalized online library.  

At Carver, we champion literacy by providing our readers with all of the above plus open access to our school library, encouraging reading beyond the classroom, advocating student choice in book selections, advertising favorite reads with optional book projects, and so much more!
