PTA

What is PTA and who can be a member?

On behalf of the PTA, we would like to welcome you to our school. What is PTA you ask? PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association, consisting of parents and teachers working together to support and enrich all students. We support school staff, help promote student self-esteem, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and funding.

The PTA is made up of our wonderful school staff and parents that volunteer their time. Who can be a member? If you’re a father, mother, aunt, uncle, protector, guardian, and/or a person who teaches or works at G.W. Carver Elementary, then we would like for you to become a member.

PTA programs and fundraising

Our primary objective as a PTA is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and to benefit the school. To meet this important objective, we fundraise. Here are a few programs that we sponsor and/or support: 4th grade t-shirts for the Austin trip, pumpkins for Pre-K and PPCD, teacher appreciation meals, yearbook, and other programs and fundraisers throughout the year. This year we hope to add more cultural and safety programs.

Become a volunteer…why YOU should get involved

As you can see, we are a very busy group. This is where you can help! WE need your help, and so does your child(ren). A special thanks to all the volunteers from last year for all of their hard work and dedication. Here at Carver, we strive for excellence and what better way than to become involved today. We are in need of growth and are seeking volunteers to continue reestablishing the organization. WE have planned some exciting events this year in hopes to get more parents involved in their children’s education. The PTA is a team effort in which we cannot succeed on our own. PLEASE come and join us by signing up or contacting your child’s teacher.

Please contact your child's teacher to join PTA. Membership is $10.00.
