To celebrate their hard work and commitment, Garland ISD will celebrate School Lunch Hero Day on Friday, May 3. This day, celebrated annually since 2013, was designated by The School Nutrition Association and Jarrett Krosoczka, author of the “Lunch Lady” graphic novel series. School Lunch Hero Day provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to 30 million of America’s students each school day.
Altrusa is visiting our school on Friday, May 3rd, to give away a book per student. This is a yearly event where they visit our school so that students can pick out a book to keep and take home. We appreciate their time and generosity for student literacy.
Last Day of Student Library Book Check Out
Our last day for students to check out books is Friday, May 10th. After that date, students will be returning books and tracking down missing books.
Come and enjoy breakfast with your child before school on May 10th from 7:30 to 8:15 am in the Centerville Cafeteria. Please RSVP to your child's teacher or the office by May 6th using the gold form that was sent home with students.
First Grade Field Trip
Centerville 1st graders will be taking a field trip to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden on Wednesday, May 15th.
