Principal

Welcome! My name is Andrea Cockrell, and I am honored to begin another exciting school year as the proud principal of Cisneros Prekindergarten School. This year marks my 30th year in education and my 16th year serving as a school principal.

I earned my Master's degree from the University of North Texas, and I remain passionate about creating a positive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, travelling, going to the movies, and attending concerts. My husband and I have a son who lives in Austin, and family is an important part of my life.

I firmly believe in educating the whole child and helping our youngest learners develop a lifelong love of school and learning. I am excited to partner with our students, families, and staff to make this an amazing school year!

Assistant Principal

Ms. Debra Pike

My name is Debra Pike, and I am honored to serve the students, families, and staff of Cisneros Prekindergarten as the Assistant Principal. As a proud graduate of Garland ISD, it is especially meaningful to return and serve the community that helped shape my own educational journey. This school year marks my 14th year in education and my 6th year as an Assistant Principal.

After graduating from Garland ISD, I attended Trinity Valley Community College in Terrell, Texas, where I earned an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts of Education. I then continued my studies at Texas A&M University–Commerce, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I later earned my Master's degree in Urban Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University.

Before becoming an administrator, I had the privilege of teaching students in 1st through 4th grade self-contained classrooms and 5th grade Math and Science. Those experiences continue to shape my passion for creating positive learning environments where every child can thrive.

Outside of school, my husband, our daughter, and I enjoy spending time together reading, playing board games, listening to music, and making memories with our pets—including our cat and our very unique jumping spider!

I am excited to partner with our families and dedicated staff to ensure every Cisneros Cub has a joyful, engaging, and successful school year. I look forward to getting to know each of our students and families and making this an amazing year together!
