Hello and welcome to Cisneros! I’m a Garland kid, born and raised. I attended Routh Roach Elementary, O’Banion Middle School, and South Garland High School. I studied biochemistry at Texas A&M University in College Station (unusual for a Pre-K principal, right?). I received my master’s in Education Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. My teaching career started in Oak Cliff for a few years, taught in Mesquite for four years, and then taught Math and Science at Toler Elementary in Garland. I’ve been a school administrator since 2006. I have been at Cisneros since 2017.
My wife and daughter are also products of Garland ISD. My daughter recently graduated from Texas A&M (I’ll talk Aggie football and A&M with you all day!) I have a ton of pride in Garland ISD and firmly believe in the power of education. I absolutely know that Cisneros is the right place for your child!
Our school motto is “Where Little People Do Big Things.” I want your child’s time at Cisneros to be fun, exciting, and puts them on a path to a great future. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me or one of my staff members. Garland ISD and Cisneros PreK… it’s where their future begins!
Hello Cubby Family,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Gloria Cisneros Pre-Kindergarten. We understand that this is their first time away from family and it will take time to transition to the new routines and schedules. We want to assure you that we make every effort to ensure your child feels welcomed, loved and a sense of belonging. Our goal is to have your child grow cognitively by learning the skills they need in reading, writing, math and science; emotionally by learning social skills; physically by developing their motor skills; and increasing their independence through age-appropriate responsibilities. Our hope is to create life-long learners that are independent thinkers and make positive contributions to our society.
