Working with your child

Suggestions

Suggestions

To help your child start adjusting and making the transition smoother for them, please ensure your child has developed the skills listed below prior to starting the school year.

Can verbally state his/her first and last name (no nicknames)
Can perform self-help skills, including eating and toileting.
Can snap and unsnap his.her pants (elastic waist bands are a good alternative)
Is able to share and play cooperatively with others.
Can be away from parents a minimum of 3 consecutive hours.
Can stay awake for at least 3 hours and does not need a nap.

It is important to work with your child at home so that the concepts taught at school are reinforced. For the beginning of the school year, we recommend working with your child on knowing their age, teachers' names, shapes, colors and counting to 10.

Parental involvement is vital to our students success. We want all parents to feel they are informed of each students progress.

Counseling

Counseling is provided to students whose personal concerns or problems put their personal, social, and/or educational development at risk. Visit our counseling page to access information, resources, and support services.

Skyward family access

Maintaining open lines of communication between the school and home is vital in providing the best quality education to every student. Skyward Family Access allows easy, open lines of communication between the school and home. Students and parents can login to view attendance, grades, and calendars. Family Access is available anywhere with an internet connection. Please let the office know if you need assistance setting up an account or if any information needs to be updated.
