Meet our Third Grade team.

Third Grade Team

Ms. Giles, Ms. Olveda, and Ms. Cox

Welcome to Third Grade! We’re so glad you’re here and ready for an amazing year ahead. Get excited about reading chapter books, writing small stories and reports, solving multiplication puzzles, exploring science experiments, and uncovering fun facts about our world through social studies. You’re going to learn, create, imagine, and make new friends—every single day!

A Note for Families:
Third grade is a pivotal year of growth and discovery—a time when students embrace independence and build confidence through real-world skills like multiplication, logical thinking, and written expression. Research and classroom experience show that your support at home matters: reading together each night, asking children to explain their thinking, and celebrating “small wins” can have a powerful impact on learning.

To keep you informed, we’ll send out regular newsletters to highlight class schedules, upcoming projects, resources, and ideas for how you can engage at home. We invite each parent or caregiver to partner in our journey—whether by volunteering occasionally in our room, attending math nights, or sharing your child’s interests and family culture to enrich our classroom connections.

We are going to make third grade our best year yet—full of curiosity, creativity, and kindness. We can't wait to get to know each child and family. Thank you for entrusting us with your third grader’s journey!
